Network Box Adds Live Watch Trace Functionalty for Mail, Web Proxy, Firewall and IDP
HOUSTON, May 27, 2008 - Network Box USA, Inc., the American arm of managed security company Network Box Corp., announced today the release of live watch trace functionality for the Network Box line of award-winning unified threat management (UTM) products. The Network Box is a remotely-managed appliance that combines several applications into a single, cost-effective device that lets organizations easily combat hackers, worms, backdoors and other online menaces.
The innovative new trace functionality - added to the appliances mail, web proxy, firewall and IDP (intrusion detection and prevention) modules - allows network administrators to monitor the web sites that employees access and to set filters for inappropriate sites, using web filter categories set by Network Box OEM partner Websense (formerly SurfControl). The live watch mode lets the administrator set the filter conditions and view the traffic in real time from the user interface, my.network-box.com, and in historical mode, they can monitor past online user activity. In either mode, any potential threats arising from users viewing inappropriate content are highlighted via a color-coding system.
The ability to have real-time access to online user behavior, including transactional data, is a significant benefit to our customers, in any type of industry, said Pierluigi Stella, CTO of Network Box USA. Adding live watch trace functionality to the many existing capabilities of the Network Box device is just the latest example of the companys ongoing development program for product enhancement.
In addition to thwarting emerging threats, the powerful memory of the Network Box E-Series means that it can easily maintain a library of old threats that sporadically reappear - unlike many security devices that purge databases because of limited memory, leaving companies open to attack.
The new trace functionality is now being rolled out, as part of Network Boxs managed security service, to all existing customers running the products NBRS-3.0 firmware. It is also included in all new Network Box appliances, which are sold through Network Box USAs reseller channel.
