Welcome to the sixth issue of Network Box USA’s quarterly e-newsletter, The Monitor. Here you’ll find our latest press releases; some important things to think about; and an up-to-the-minute look at global Internet threats.
This issue’s In the News section leads off with a recap of our recently released Sentinel Antivirus Engine, which focuses on developing signatures for emerging threats in less than 60 seconds. It works with our existing antivirus technology and automatic PUSH updates, providing the fastest protection against new threats available on the market. In fact, during the first week following the launch, Sentinel correctly identified and blocked 39 new emerging threats missed by other anti-virus engines. And more than 150,000 malicious threats were blocked by Sentinel engines in the first week alone!
Other key stories include signing Lubbock, TX-based CoNetrix as a channel partner to sell our managed service. CoNetrix serves numerous financial institutions and specializes in the banking industry – our strongest vertical market. And you’ll find rather interesting another news item that expands on how the U.S. has now overtaken India and Russia to become the largest producer of viruses.
On our Brief Case page, learn how and why Macon-Atlanta State Bank selected Network Box – our services have provided the bank with significant cost savings over managing their security in-house.
In our Things to Think About feature, we explore why the need for secure use of social networking applications at the office is paramount for any business. The threat from social networks and applications continues to grow – it’s critical that businesses protect themselves from existing threats from social networks.
Our Outside the Box section features an exclusive commentary by Chris Jones, co-founder and principal analyst at Canalys. Chris is based in the firm’s Palo Alto, CA office. His article talks about how channel partners can find/define their role in cloud-based services.
I hope you find the current issue of The Monitor to be informative and useful.
